Mathieu van der Poel to Race in Les Gets, Haute-Savoie

With the Men Elite UCI Cross-country World Cup title races entering their decisive phase, Adrien Boichis, Bjorn Riley, Luca Martin and Mathis Azzaro reflected on their seasons, ambitions and the battle ahead during the mid-season press conference following the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series summer break.

A dramatic season finale in Morillon, Haute-Savoie saw Adrien Dailly (Speed Project) and Morgane Charre (Pivot Factory Racing) claim Elite race victories, with Dailly overturning the Men standings to secure the overall title and Ella Conolly successfully defending her Women’s crown. In the Junior categories, Nežka Libnik and Hugo Marti Montessinos capped dominant campaigns by securing both the final-round wins and the overall series honours. Speed Project underlined its exceptional season by claiming the inaugural UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Team Trophy, The Summit.

A dramatic opening day in Morillon turned the Elite Men’s title race on its head, with Adrien Dailly closing in on overall leader Lief Rodgers ahead of a winner-takes-all finale. While Ella Conolly remains on course to retain her crown despite a rare off day, Helen Weber seized the lead in the Elite Women’s race, Jules Janniaud edged ahead of Hugo Marti Montessinos in the Junior Men’s standings, and Nežka Libnik moved to the brink of the Junior Women’s title.
