Pierre’s biggest career achievement is the podium at the UCI Mont-Sainte-Anne cross-country race in 2022.
Winning the UCI National Elite title and racing in the black-yellow-red jersey for several consecutive years is also something very special to him. When Pierre received his first mountain bike, he joined a club close to home. The club organized a “kids” race once a year, a 45-minute race on 26-inch bikes. He immediately loved it, and the following year competed in the entire national challenge series. Pierre’s favourite place to train and spend hours in the saddle is without a doubt the Belgian Ardennes. Firstly, because he was born there and knows the area very well. It reminds him a lot of his early days on the bike, and it’s easy for him to see how much he’s progressed over the years. The terrain is very varied and perfectly suited for cross-country riding. It’s also often muddy, which are conditions he really enjoys. Pierre’s future goals are to keep improving his level and experience. He would also love to perform at his best on race day at a UCI World Championship and go through another intense qualification campaign with the national team for the upcoming Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Sina Frei (Specialized Factory Racing) and Dario Lillo (Giant Factory Off-road Team - XC) took two of the hardest-fought UCI Cross-country Olympic (XCO) World Cup victories in recent years at the opening round of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in South Korea.

A historic opener to the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in South Korea saw Asa Vermette (Frameworks Racing / TRP) claim a sensational Elite debut victory while Vali Höll (Commencal Schwalbe by Les Orres) triumphed despite a flat tyre. On a demanding brand-new course, Junior wins for Aletha Ostgaard (Canyon DH Racing) and Jonty Williamson (Yeti / Fox Factory Race Team) capped a thrilling start to the season.
