Jackson seemed destined for mountain biking greatness long before he entered first grade. Growing up in Squamish, British Columbia—a global hotspot for the sport—he first captured the world’s attention in the viral 2010 video Jackson Run Bike to Kindergarten, which featured a tiny Jackson launching jumps, drops, spins, and more on a balance bike on his way to school.
By 2021, Jackson was finally old enough to race in the Junior class at the Mercedes-Benz UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup. Boarding a plane to Europe, he made an immediate impact, winning his second-ever World Cup race in Les Gets, France. He went on to claim two more victories, secure the overall Junior World Cup title, and cap off his rookie season with a Junior World Championship gold medal—a clean sweep of junior racing honors. In 2022, Jackson became the youngest-ever winner of Red Bull Hardline, dominating the revamped course. His momentum continued into 2023, finishing second overall in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup standings. However, a severe crash at the first Red Bull Hardline Australia event in early 2024 sidelined him for the entire season with a torn ACL. Jackson returned in spectacular fashion at the same event in 2025, taking the win and launching into the season of his life—claiming both the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup and World Championship titles, becoming the first Canadian rider to achieve this rare double.
