Gwendalyn grew up in Southern California and began racing and riding mountain bikes in NICA as a freshman in high school.
Her biggest motivator is pushing her limits as an athlete, which means regularly stepping outside her comfort zone. More than anything, riding and racing have been her happy place since she started, and she can’t imagine her life without trails. She attended Colorado Mesa University, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. After her racing career, she hopes to work in a performance lab and help other athletes push the limits of what’s possible. Gwendalyn’s favourite off‑the‑bike activity is making coffee for herself and her friends. Another dream she has is to one day open a café!

Sina Frei (Specialized Factory Racing) and Dario Lillo (Giant Factory Off-road Team - XC) took two of the hardest-fought UCI Cross-country Olympic (XCO) World Cup victories in recent years at the opening round of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in South Korea.

A historic opener to the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in South Korea saw Asa Vermette (Frameworks Racing / TRP) claim a sensational Elite debut victory while Vali Höll (Commencal Schwalbe by Les Orres) triumphed despite a flat tyre. On a demanding brand-new course, Junior wins for Aletha Ostgaard (Canyon DH Racing) and Jonty Williamson (Yeti / Fox Factory Race Team) capped a thrilling start to the season.
